After Sony TV’s serial on child marriage, Balika Vadhu, it is the turn of Star Plus’ Sach ka Saamna to face the ire of parliamentarians.

TV reality game show ‘Sach Ka Saamna’ has landed at a trouble after BJP and SP MPs demanded the government to ban the show on Wednesday. The parliamentarians claimed that the reality game show is broadcasting vulgar values and it is a threat to Indian values and morality.

The MPs said that the questions asked on the show were outrageous. The SP’s Kamal Akhtar raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. He said that the contestants are being asked ‘obscene questions’ about their personal lives in front of their family members. Citing an instance, he claimed that the show was against “Indian culture”.

Kamal Akhtar further blamed another TV serials ‘Balika Vadhu’ on Colors that it is allegedly showing the advantages of child marriage. He demanded the government that ‘Balika Vadhu’ should be taken off air. The BJP MPs SS Ahluwalia, Najma Heptullah, Prakash Javadekar and Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut supported Kamal Akhtar.

They urged the govt to ban the show in order to stop the blatant abuse of Indian cultural ethos. Finally, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan agreed with the MPs. He said that the government should take note of this ’serious’ issue.
