Balika Vadhu get a clean chit from IB Ministry
Popular TV series Balika Vadhu, which airs on Colors, has received a clean chit from the Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni.
After JD(U) MPs protested against TV serial Balika Vadhu, the I&B ministry has cleared the soap saying it does not promote
child marriage. MPs had protested in Parliament alleging that despite laws banning child marriage, the serial was allowed to run by the I&B ministry.
Following the protest, I&B minister Ambika Soni had asked for an inquiry. The inquiry found that the allegations were misplaced. Ministry sources said Soni would be writing to the Speaker to inform her of the state of affairs.
